How to Prepare Your Artwork for Custom UV Printed Products

April 6, 2026 · By Fantasy Print Studio Team

Your Design Matters More Than You Think

You have picked the perfect product — maybe a custom phone case for your partner, a set of coasters for your business, or wall art for your living room. Now comes the part that makes or breaks the final result: the artwork you send us.

At Fantasy Print Studio, we use a eufyMake E1 UV printer that can produce incredibly detailed, vivid prints with a unique 3D raised texture. But even the best printer in the world cannot fix a blurry photo or a tiny image that has been stretched to ten times its size. Here is everything you need to know to get the best results.

Resolution: The Number One Rule

Resolution is measured in pixels — the tiny dots that make up a digital image. The more pixels, the sharper the print. Here are our minimum recommendations:

  • Phone cases: at least 1080 x 1920 pixels
  • Mugs: at least 2400 x 1200 pixels for a full wrap
  • Coasters: at least 1000 x 1000 pixels
  • Wall art: at least 3000 x 3000 pixels for a large print
  • Keychains and magnets: at least 600 x 600 pixels

How to check your image resolution: On iPhone, open the photo and tap the info button. On Android, open in Files and check details. On a computer, right-click the file and check properties.

File Formats We Accept

  • PNG — best for graphics with text, logos, and illustrations. Supports transparency.
  • JPEG/JPG — best for photographs. Smaller file size but no transparency.
  • TIFF — highest quality, largest file. Great for professional designs.
  • PDF — good for vector designs and logos.

Colour: What You See vs What You Get

Screens emit light. Prints reflect light. This means colours will always look slightly different in print than on your screen. Here are some tips:

  • Bright neon colours on screen will be slightly less vivid in print
  • Dark colours print beautifully — our UV process handles blacks and deep blues exceptionally well
  • If exact colour matching matters (for business branding), send us your Pantone codes
  • Photos taken in warm, natural light generally print the most true-to-life

Design Tips for Different Products

Phone Cases: Keep important elements away from the edges — we need a small bleed area. Simple, bold designs look better than busy, detailed ones at phone case size.

Mugs: The printable area wraps about three-quarters of the way around. Design for a horizontal canvas. Remember that the handle will interrupt the design.

Wall Art: Go big and bold. Our metal prints capture incredible detail, so high-resolution photos with good contrast look stunning.

Coasters: Square format. Keep text and faces away from corners since some coaster shapes have rounded edges.

What We Can Help With

Not a designer? No problem. Here is what we can do for you:

  • Resize and crop your image to fit the product
  • Add text overlays (names, dates, short quotes)
  • Remove backgrounds from photos
  • Adjust brightness, contrast, and colour balance
  • Arrange multiple photos into a collage

Just send us your original photos and tell us what you want. We will send you a proof before printing.
