What Is UV Printing? Everything You Need to Know About 3D Textured Prints

What Is UV Printing?
UV printing is a digital printing process where ink is applied directly onto a surface and instantly cured (hardened) by ultraviolet light. Unlike traditional printing methods, UV printing can print on almost any material — metal, wood, glass, ceramic, plastic, leather, acrylic, and hundreds more. The result is vibrant, full-color prints that are durable, scratch-resistant, and waterproof.
What Makes 3D Textured UV Printing Special?
The magic of our printing process is the 3D texture capability. By building up multiple layers of UV-cured ink, we create raised, tactile designs you can feel with your fingertips. Imagine running your finger over a phone case and feeling the scales of a dragon, the petals of a flower, or the letters of a name. This isn't a flat sticker — it's a premium, embossed print that looks and feels like it belongs in a high-end boutique.
UV Printing vs Other Methods
Sublimation requires a special coating and only works on certain white or light-colored surfaces. Screen printing is limited to flat surfaces and simple designs. Heat transfer vinyl can peel over time. UV printing? It prints directly on the object, works on virtually any color or material, and the print is permanent. Plus, no other method can create the raised 3D texture effect.
What Can You UV Print On?
At Fantasy Print Studio, we print on 300+ surfaces using our eufyMake E1 printer. Here are our most popular products: phone cases (plastic, silicone, TPU), stainless steel tumblers, ceramic mugs, metal wall art, acrylic keychains, ceramic coasters, fridge magnets, and metal posters. But we can also print on wood, glass, leather, stone, canvas, and more. If it fits in the printer, we can print on it.
